Two teenage girls commit 'suicide'
A college girl allegedly committed suicide by taking poison over family feud at West Aura village in Kathalia upazila early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Ria, 18, student of HSC second year of Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia Degree College and daughter of Akkas Sikder of the same village.
Local people said Ria got married with Zakir Hossain of the same village. She divorced him one year after the wedlock.
Ria took poison following a brawl with her parents at night. She was admitted at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital in critical condition where she died early Monday.
Another report from Narsingdi adds: A newlywed housewife allegedly committed suicide by taking poison at Hajipur Purbopara village in Sadar upazila Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Rozina, 18, daughter of Mohammad Ali of the village.
She got married with Mamun, son of Shamsu Mia of Sreenagar village, about six months back. She went to her father's house after Eid day.
Police and locals said neighbour Russel called Rozina out of her father's house in the afternoon.
After some time she took poison and started crying in an abandoned house near her father's house.
Her relatives took her to Narsingdi General Hospital where she died at night.
