Feasibility study of Lebukhali Bridge begins
Feasibility study for the proposed Lebukhali Bridge over the Payra River on Patuakhali-Barisal road began on Sunday.
A team led by Additional Chief Engineer of RHD Syed Mosahed Ali visited the site at about 4:00pm.
Syed Mosahed Ali said, " We are visiting the site to prepare DPP (Departmental Project Profile) of the proposed bridge on the Payra River. It will be a 4-lane bridge. The 700 meters long bridge will have long approach roads on both sides".
After the DPP, more technical experts will visit the site and a design would be finalised", he added.
The bride is likely to change socio-economic condition of the people of the southern region and boost the Kuakata tourist centre.
Mosahed further said that the bridge will help develop the communication system in the region as government is planning to set up a seaport in Kalapara area.
Superintendent engineer for Patuakhali Emdad Hossain, superintendent engineer for Barisal Golam Rahman, executive engineer for Patuakhali Shawkat Ali, executive engineer for Barisal AKM Samsuddin Ahmed and others were present at the site.
