CMP honours 21 for role in combating crimes

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) yesterday awarded certificates and cash incentives to 21 policemen in recognition of their contributions to combating crimes. Three of them were given certificates and Tk 2,000 each while the rest were given only cash incentives for their achievements in combating crimes, recovering firearms, illegal drugs, stolen vehicles and arresting criminals during the months of July and August this year. CMP Commissioner Abul Kashem handed over the certificates and cash to the cops in the monthly conference in presence of journalists in the conference room at CMP headquarters. Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Mohsin and Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Mainuddin of Kotwali and Bakolia police stations, and Sub-Inspector (SI) Sadip Kumar Das of Kotwali Police Station were awarded certificates and Tk 2000 each as best officers. The rest 18 policemen, including Assistant Commissioner of Detective Branch (DB) Hasan Chowdhury, were awarded only cash incentives. “We have introduced the system to encourage the policemen to perform their professional duties with utmost sincerity and to give recognition to their bold role in combating crimes,” said the DMP commissioner while awarding the certificates and cash incentives. “It will continue and one sub inspector from each police station will be awarded certificate and cash incentive every month for their better performance,” he said. The commissioner observed that the law and order in Chittagong metropolitan area has been improved and was also under control during the Ramadan and Eid-Ul-Fitr. CMP Additional Commissioner Abdul Jalil Mondol, Deputy Commissioner (DC, north) Banaj Kumar Majumder, DC (port) Kushum Dewan, DC (headquarters) Maynul Islam, DC (traffic) Faruk Ahmed and other CMP officials were present at the conference.
