<b>Miraculous escape</b>
Criminals tried to bury alive a man after injuring him at Mithapur village in Patuakhali Sadar upazila yesterday. The victim, Moeen Uddin, 35, narrowly escaped a tragic death as locals brought him to Patuakhali General Hospital in a serious condition. Moeen reached Sluiceghata on his way to Mithapur village home from a nearby village at about 2:00pm when a gang of four or five people attacked him with sharp weapons, said the victim. The criminals beat him up and tried to bury him alive under clay on the bank of a canal. Hearing Moeen's scream, locals rushed to the spot and rescued him. Meantime, the gang fled away.
