3 children drown in Habiganj, Sylhet
A two-year-old boy drowned in a pond at Rajabad village of Nabiganj sadar union yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Arzan Ali, 2, son of Makhsadul Mia of the village.
Family sources said the boy drowned in the pond adjacent to their house. He fell in the pond while playing on its bank at noon.
Later, his relatives found him floating in the pond in an unconscious state and took him to upazila health complex where doctors declared them dead.
In Sylhet, two children of a family drowned in a pond at Sunampur village in Golapganj upazila Saturday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Salma Begum,6, daughter of Selimuddin and his cousin Safiya Begum Sathi,6, daughter of Nizamuddin.
Family sources said the two girls drowned in the pond while playing on its bank on the Eid day. Later, they were found floating in the pond.
