Young man murdered
A young man was stabbed to death by his neighbours over a trifling matter at Brahmanbaria in Raiganj upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Shahin, 27, son of Mizanur Rahman of same village.
Police said Shahin was smoking at a bazaar of the village openly during daytime in holy month of Ramadan at about 5:30pm on Saturday.
Seeing this, his neighbour Nazrul Islam, son of Nurul Islam, protested the open smoking, which resulted in an altercation between them.
At one stage, Nazrul hit Shahin with a sharp weapon, leaving him injured.
Injured Shahin was rushed to Sadar Hospital and later shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he died at noon Sunday.
