Two die after taking toxic liquor
Two people died and another fell sick after taking toxic liquor in Sonagazi upazila of Feni district yesterday.
The deceased were identified as Mobarak Hossain, 35, a Jubo Dal activist, and Hiron Mia, 36.
Jubo Dal Sonagazi upazila unit convener Abul Mobarak alias VP Dulal, 40, who fell sick after taking the poisonous liquor along with the two, was admitted to a local clinic in the district town.
Police quoted locals as saying that Mobarak, Hiron and Dulal fell sick after taking liquor in Sonagazi hospital bus stand area.
Relatives rushed them to Sonagazi Upazila Health Complex, where the on duty doctors advised them to take the three to either Feni or Dhaka as their condition was deteriorating.
Later, Mobarak and Hiron were brought back to their respective homes where they died.
