Youth held on rape, murder charge
Police arrested a youth on charge of rape and murder of a girl from his residence at Uttar Musrat Modati village under Kaliganj police station yesterday.
Arrestee Omor Faruque,24, is son of Motiar Rahman of the village.
Kaliganj police are now looking for four others including the main accused in the case.
Police and locals said, a girl was gang raped and murdered allegedly by one Liakot Ali and four others at Votmari Hazraniya village of Kaliganj upazila Monday night.
Police recovered the body of the victim from a maize field near Votmari Bazar at dawn on Tuesday.
The victim was daughter of Shafiar Rahman of the village and a worker of a bidi factory at Votmari Bazar.
