Robbers beat up house members, loot four houses
Robbers beat up members of four houses and looted valuables at Joka-Pukuria village under Ghior police station in Manikganj early yesterday.
Locals and family members of the houses said, a gang of robbers numbering 15-20 wearing shorts entered the house of Anil Kumer Biswas by breaking open window grill at around 1:00am.
They beat up Anil and his wife Kamala and looted cash Tk. 13,000, three tolas of gold and 3 mobile sets from the houses.
Seriously injured Kamala was taken to Manikganj Sadar Hospital.
The robbers then entered the house of Dr Awlad Hossain and beat up house owner Awlad, his wife Amena Begum and son Siful Islam Emon. They then looted cash Tk. 55,000, 19 tolas of gold and 2 mobile sets.
From there the robbers went to the house of Amzad Hossain and beat him up and his wife Saheda Begum. They took away 1.5 tolas of gold from the house.
The robbers then entered the house of Abdul Mannan and beat him up and his wife Selina Begum but could not loot any thing as the neighbours woke up.
