Mostafa Kamal Molla, President of the Managing Committee of the school, said upazila engineering department declared the building unfit for use in January this year. So, there is no alternative but to hold the classes in two shifts under open sky on the school premises, he added. Kachua Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mehedi Hasan said he had sent a proposal to the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) under the LGRD ministry, asking for allocation of fund for immediate construction of a new building of the primary school. The proposal has been accepted as I have learnt and fund for that purpose will be allocated very soon, the UNO said, adding that Tk 25 lakh would be required for construction of the new school building. Kachua Upazila Chairman SM Mahfuzur Rahman said an alternative arrangement will be made soon so that students can attend their classes in a makeshift house until construction of a new building.
