15 shops gutted
A devastating fire gutted 15 shops in Bonogram market in Santhia upazila under the district early yesterday.
Fire fighters said the fire was originated from an electric short circuit in a shop of the market at about 4.35am and soon spread to other shops of the market destroying 5 groceries, 2 hotels, 4 hardware shops, a salon and a cosmetic shop.
The fire damaged property worth Tk 20 lakh, the shop owners claimed.
