A case has been filed against 15 people including Maulana Shakawat Hossain, presidium member of Jatiya Party (Ershad) on charge of war crimes in 1971. They have been accused of killing, arson and looting of houses in four villages under Keshabpur upazila in the district during the war of Liberation. Mohammad Ali, local commander of Keshabpur Muktijoddha Sangsad filed the case with Judicial Magistrate's Court yesterday morning. Judicial magistrate Abdullah Al Mamun took the case into cognizance and directed the officer-in-charge of Keshabpur police station to investigate the allegations and take necessary steps. In the case statement Mohammad Ali said, the 'rajakars' shot dead two siblings, Shatis Sarker and Kattik Sarker, of Boga village and killed Ismail Hossain by charging bayonet on August 9, 1971. The accused also torched the houses of Liakot Ali, Fazor Ali, Abdul Karim, Abul Kashim and Nurul Islam of Mahadevpur village, Khorshid Ali and Abdus Samad Sarker of Gourighona village on August 8 and 9 in 1971 after looting valuables. The other accused in the case are Aminuddin of Sherirampur village, Hasim Ali, Mokshed Sadder, Kasmot Ali, Answar Fakir, and Answar Mollah of Vorotvhaina village, Abdul Bari of Agarhati village, Abdul Khalik of Altapur village, Abdul Bari Morol of Hisladanga village, Hossain Ali of Vanderkhola village, Akbar Ali of Velkati village, Abdul Aziz Morol of Mominpur village, Abdul Gani Sheikh and Ebrahim Karigor of Satbaria village under Keshabpur upzila.
