Labour leader killed
A labour leader of a brickfield was beaten and stabbed to death by extortionists at Volail village under Fatulla police station on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Sanaullah, 45, leader of labourers of Sanji brickfield of Baktabali area and a resident of Kashipur village. Locals said, a gang of extortionists were demanding illegal toll from Sanaullah since long which he refused. On Sunday morning while Sanaullah was going to his workplace the extortionists intercepted him on the way and looted 1000 taka in cash from him after beating him up mercilessly. At one stage the muggers cut tendons of his leg and stabbed him indiscriminately. Locals rescued him and sent him to Narayanganj 200-bed hospital. Later, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where he died at about 9:30am.
