Villagers in C'nawabganj demand teacher's trial
Two more cases in Dinajpur, Satkhira
People of three villages of Sadar upazila yesterday demanded punishment to a teacher of a primary school for his alleged bid to violate a girl student of class five.
Hundreds of agitated people of Nasipur, Chakjhagru and Jambaria of Baliadanga union formed a human chain in front of local press club.
Earlier, they brought out a procession alleging that Moktar Hossain, an assistant teacher of Nasipur Non-government Primary School under Baliadanga union tried to violate the girl of the same school on May 1 at around 9 am. Nasir was her private tutor.
They further said the guardians of the student lodged a complaint with the head master and the president of the school managing committee but to no effect.
Victim's mother Noorjahan Begum later filed a case with Sadar police station but the police are yet to arrest the culprit, they alleged.
Later, the protesters submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner.
In Dinajpur, a schoolgirl was raped allegedly by her tutor at Atgaon village under Bochaganj upazila on Saturday.
Police arrested Nabab Ali, son of Taibur Rahman of the village the same night from his resident and produced him to court yesterday. The court sent him to jail, reports our correspondent.
The parents of the rape victim filed a case with Bochaganj police station on Saturday night.
Police sent the victim to Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital (DJMCH) for medical test.
Police quoting victim's family members said the girl was a class-IV student.
In Satkhira, criminals abducted a schoolgirl while she was returning home from Kazirhat area in Kalaroa upazila on May 3 afternoon, reports out correspondent.
The abductors violated the girl repeatedly and later dropped her on a road near Kazirhat bazar on May 8 evening.
Quoting locals police said, the victim, a class ten student of Kazirhat High School, was returning to her house at village Atulia in Kalaroa upazila from the school. The criminals waylaid the girl near Kazirhat bazar and abducted her at gunpoint.
Victim's father Monsur Ali of village Atulia in the same upazila filed a case with Kalaroa police accusing three people of abducting and violating her daughter.
