1 killed, 100 hurt injured in Habiganj clash
A man was killed and over 100 people, including five policemen, were injured in a fierce clash between two groups of villagers over a trifling matter at Olipur in Sadar upazila on Thursday morning.
The deceased was identified as Yunus Miah, 60, a cattle trader of Olipur village.
Witness said the clash ensued between two groups of villagers following an altercation between an autorickshaw driver and his passengers at 9:30 am.
Both the groups equipped with lethal weapon attacked each other leaving over 100 people injured.
Critically injured Yunus Miah died on the way to hospital and Mokhlech Miah, 20, was taken to Dhaka in critical condition.
Other injured were admitted to Habiganj Modern Sadar Hospital and different private clinics.
