Nor'wester kills one in Magura
Nor'wester lashed Sadar and Shalikha upazilas of the district early yesterday killing a man and damaging over 100 houses, standing crops, uprooting trees and snapping power lines.
Dulal Biswas, 55, of village Chukinagar in Shalikha upazila was critically injured when mud-wall of his house collapsed on him during the storm after midnight.
Dulal succumbed to his injuries at around 3:00 am at Magura Sadar Hospital.
In Kishoreganj, lightning killed a man and a schoolgirl in Bazitpur and Pakundia upazilas yesterday and Wednesday night, reports a correspondent.
The deceased were identified as Safi Mia,43, of Nuapara village under Bazitpur upazila and Majeda Khatun,14, daughter of Abdus Salam of Sukia village under Pakundia upazila. Majeda was a class ten student of Charpalash High School in the upazila.
