Two elephants found dead in Sherpur
Two elephants were found dead near Nakugaon land port in Nalitabari upazila yesterday morning.
Local farmers found the two elephants dead near border pillar no 1115 and informed local forest office and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) camp.
A poisonous dead snake was also found lying beside the dead elephants.
Forest department officials recovered the carcasses.
Forest bit officer Jamilur Rahman said the elephants were killed by lightning during Monday's storm or in snake bite.
He said autopsy will be done to know the reason of the death.
