11 Ctg prisoners on 3-day remand
A court here on Monday placed 11 prisoners, accused in a case filed against them for their alleged involvement in Chittagong jail incident, on a three-day remand.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Mohammad Mohsin, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, sought seven days' remand for the accused. But Judicial Magistrate Osman Gani of Chittagong Metropolitan Judicial Magistrate's Court granted three days.
The accused prisoners are Jewel, Sumon, Razu, Hazrat Ali, Jasim Uddin, Gias Uddin, Jahangir Alam, Litu, Rana, Tofail and Sheikh Mohammad.
Jailer of Chittagong Central Jail Mahbubul Alam filed the case on April 19, against 11 prisoners for attempted murder and vandalising property in the jail on April 18.
