BNP forms human chain, holds rally in Sylhet
As part of their fortnight long agitation programme, Sylhet District and City BNP yesterday formed a kilometer-long human chain in the city.
Following the 30-minute human chain from Keane Bridge to the Central Shaheed Minar in the afternoon they held a rally in the Court point area with city BNP chief Dr Shahriar Hossain Chowdhury in the chair.
Speakers at the rally said that the AL-led government is resorting to changing the names of different establishments with dirty political intention. For nothing they renamed Saifur Rahman Auditorium and Khaleda Womens' Dormitory in Osmani Medical College in Sylhet, the speakers alleged.
They said, the AL-led government withdrew none of the fake cases filed against the BNP leaders whereas it put off those against the head of the government and other party men.
Besides, the government is filing new cases against the BNP men throughout the country to harass them, they added.
