50 injured in Chandpur clash
At least 50 people were injured in a fierce clash between two rival groups over harvesting paddy in a char under Matlab upazila on Friday. Police and locals said the clash ensued in the morning when two rival groups--one led by Nurul Haque Prodhan and another by Ukil Dhali--were trying to harvest paddy in Diara Char. Both sides equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other, leaving 50 people injured. Of them, eight were admitted to Matlab Upazila Health Complex while the rest given first aid.
