Abducted boy rescued in Kishoreganj, 4 arrested
Police on Sunday night rescued a kidnapped boy and arrested four people on charge of abduction.
Police said, Mehedi Hasan Rahat,9, a class three student of Anwara Kindergarten and son of Mafiz Uddin of Hossainpur Sadar upazila was kidnapped by Azharul Islam,21, son of Jalal of Khurshid Mohol village under Gafargaon upazila in Mymensingh on Sunday afternoon.
Azhar forcibly took Rahat on a tempo near the school. He confined the boy to the house of his relative late Faruk Master at Char Pakundia village under Pakundia upazila.
Afterwards, Azhar demanded over mobile Tk 1.5 lakh from Rahat's sister as ransom.
Amrutaj, mother of Rahat filed a case with Hossainpur police and a team led by ASP Nasir Uddin later arrested Azhar from Pakundia bazaar Sunday midnight.
Following Azhar's confession police rescued Rahat from Faruq Master's house around 2:00am.
Police also arrested three accomplices of Azhar.
