30 injured as bridge collapses

About 30 boys and girls, all students of a madrasa, were injured as a bridge collapsed near Laskar Bari at Mohishmari village on Tekerhat-Shimultola-Mohsihmari road in Rajoir upazila yesterday. Of the injured, Lima, 8, Surovi,5, Rabiul, 10, Sadia,6, Rifat, 8, Sabbir, 5, Jobaer, 10, Tamim, 8, Nazmul, 12, Dukhu Miah, 5, Nur Alam, 8, and Naim, 12, are undergoing treatment at Rajoir and Tekerhat hospitals. Witnesses said the bridge collapsed when the students were returning home over the bridge from the madrasa. Hearing screams, locals rushed to the spot and rescued them.
