3 children drown in Bogra
Three five-year-old girls including twins drowned in a pond at Khanpur Purbopara village of Dupchanchia upazila in Bogra district yesterday.
Koheli and Kakoli, twin daughters of Azijar Rahman and Rakhi, daughter of Ekramul Hoque slipped into the pond adjacent to their house while playing there at noon.
Not seeing her daughter for a long time, Rakhi's mother began searching and noticed floating body of her daughter in the pond at about 4:30pm.
Hearing scream of Rakhi's mother, neighbours along with Koheli and Kakoli's parents rushed to the spot.
Local people recovered bodies of the three children from the pond.
A pall of gloom descended in the area.
