One Covid-19 death reported after 6 days

After six days of no reported Covid-19 deaths since April 5, Bangladesh reported one death from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today.

Forty-four people tested positive for the virus during the same period, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 29,124 and the mortality rate stands at 1.49 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,52,109, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 0.71 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 14.05 percent, said the press release.

A total of 6,336 samples were tested across the country during this time.

At least 590 patients recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,89,230 and the recovery rate at 96.78 percent, added the release.

The lone deceased was a man, aged between 61-70, added the release.
