Covid spike: 2 die in 24 hours, positivity rate 17.47%

Two people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country is currently 29,200 and the death rate stands at 1.47 percent.

At least 814 new Covid-19 cases were recorded during this period.

The current positivity rate is 17.47 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.77 percent.

With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 19,89,854, added the release.

A total of 4,563 samples were tested across the country during this period.

At least 1,009 patients have recovered from Covid-19 within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,13,213 and the recovery rate at 96.15 percent, said the release.

Both the deceased were male. They are between 71-80 years old, added the release.
