Covid positivity rate now 5.58%

At least 1,298 new infections were recorded and five people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 5.58 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.59 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,995 and the mortality rate stands at 1.50 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,38,135, added the release.

A total of 23,274 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At least 8,072 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during this period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 17,79,687 and the recovery rate at 91.82 percent, added the release.

Of the five deceased, four were men and one was women.

Of them, two were between 41-50 years old, one was within 51-60 and two were 61-70 years old, added the release.
