Covid-19 positivity rate drops below 7%

At least 1,951 new infections were recorded and nine people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 6.94 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.62 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,974 and the mortality rate stands at 1.50 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,35,242, added the release.

A total of 28,097 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 8,674 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 17,63,258 and the recovery rate at 91.11 percent, added the release.

Of the nine deceased, five were male and four were female.

Of them, one was aged between 0-10 years, one between 21-30, two between 41-50, three between 61-70, one each aged between 71-80 and 91-100 respectively, added the release.
