Covid-19: One death, 211 new cases in 24 hours

One person died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 28,048 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 211 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,81,083, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.22 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.03 percent.

A total of 17,332 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours till 8 am today.

At least 168 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,45,571 and the recovery rate at 97.75 percent.

The deceased was male and he was between 51-60 years old, added the release.
