Covid-19: One death, 154 cases recorded in 24 hours

One person died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,891 and the death rate stands at 1.78 percent.

A total of 13,072 samples were tested across the country and at least 154 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,70,835, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.18 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 15.02 percent.

At least 157 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,34,635 and the recovery rate is 97.70 percent.

The lone deceased was between 71-80 year old, added the release.
