Covid-19 death toll in Bangladesh crosses 29,000 mark

Positivity rate 5.53%, 10 deaths reported in 24 hours

At least 1,516 new infections were recorded and 10 people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The current positivity rate is 5.53 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.57 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 29,005 and the mortality rate stands at 1.50 percent. Meanwhile, the total number of cases rose to 19,39,651, added the release.

A total of 27,434 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 6,459 patients have recovered from Covid-19 during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 17,86,146 and the recovery rate at 92.09 percent, added the release.

Of the 10 deceased, eight were male and two were female.

Of them, one was between 31-40, one within 41-50, one between 51-60, five between 61-70 and two were 81-90 years old, added the release.
