After no death yesterday, 7 Covid-19 fatalities recorded in 24 hours

Seven people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 27,953 and the death rate stands at 1.78 percent.

At least 199 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,74,088, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.16 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.68 percent.

A total of 17,135 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).

At least 192 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,38,198 and the recovery rate at 97.72 percent.

Of the seven deceased, six were men and one was woman.

Of them, one was between 31-40 years old, one was within 41-50, one was within 51-60, two were between 61-70, one was within 71-80, and one was between 81-90 years old, added the release.
