6 Covid-19 deaths, 329 new cases in 24 hours

Six people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00 am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 28,028 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 329 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,79,325, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.52 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.20 percent.

A total of 21,612 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours till 8 am today.

At least 288 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,44,150 and the recovery rate at 97.77 percent.

Of the six deceased, four were male and two were female.

Of them, one was between 21-30 years old, three were within 51-60, one was within 61-70, and one was between 81-90 years old, added the release.
