6 Covid-19 deaths, 211 infections recorded in 24 hours

Six people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,868 and the death rate stands at 1.78 percent.

A total of 17,226 samples were tested across the country and at least 211 new infections were recorded in this period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,69,539, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.22 percent while the overall positivity rate stands at 15.16 percent.

At least 276 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,33,423 and the recovery rate is 97.70 percent. 

Among the six deceased, two were men and four were women.

Of them, four were between 41-50, one between 61-70, and one between 71-80 years old, added the release.
