4 Covid-19 deaths, 223 new infections recorded in 24 hours

Four people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours until till 8:00 am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 27,922 and the death rate stands at 1.78 percent.

At least 223 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,72,501, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.14 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 14.84 percent.

A total of 19,517 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).

At least 212 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,36,515 and the recovery rate at 97.71 percent.

Of the four deceased, one was a man and three were women.

Of them, one was between 51-60 years old, one was within 61-70, one was between 71-80, and one was within 81-90 years old, added the release.
