3 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, current positivity rate 1.14%

Three people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am today, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of deaths has now reached 27,873, and the death rate stands at 1.78 percent.

At least 229 new infections were recorded in the meantime, taking the total number of people infected to 15,69,982, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.14 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.11 percent.

A total of 20,031 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).

At least 211 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,33,836 and the recovery rate at 97.70 percent.

All three deceased were female. Of them, one was between 0-10 years old and other two were within 51-60 years old, added the release.
