2 more die of Covid in 24 hours, positivity rate 2.74%

Two people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 28,072 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 512 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,85,539, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 2.74 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.80 percent.

A total of 18,673 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours.

At least 290 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,49,101 and the recovery rate at 97.70 percent.

Of the two deceased, one was man and one was woman. Of them, one was between 21-30 years old and one between 61-70, added the release.
