2 Covid-19 deaths in 24 hours, current positivity rate 11.55%

Two people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country is currently 29,225 and the death rate stands at 1.47 percent.

At least 1,051 new Covid-19 cases were recorded during this period.

The current positivity rate is 11.55 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.77 percent.

With the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 19,94,433, added the release.

A total of 9,100 samples were tested across the country during this period.

At least 1,957 patients have recovered from Covid-19 within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,21,123 and the recovery rate at 96.32 percent, said the release.

Of the two deceased, one was male and one was female. They were between 61-90 years old, added the release.
