Priyanka Chopra starrer ‘The Bluff’ tops global streaming charts

Actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s pirate adventure film “The Bluff” has emerged as the most-watched original film across global streaming platforms, despite receiving mixed reviews from critics.

According to data reported by Variety, the film topped the Streaming Originals: Film chart for the period between February 27 and March 5. Released on Prime Video in February, the film recorded an estimated 300.3 million minutes of viewership during that time.

The second spot on the chart went to “Accused”, directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and released on Netflix. The psychological thriller, starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Pratibha Ranta, follows a London-based gynaecologist accused of sexual misconduct at work and amassed about 213.1 million minutes of viewership.

David Victori’s “Firebreak” ranked third with approximately 177.2 million minutes of viewing on Netflix. The documentary “Paul McCartney: Man on the Run,” directed by Morgan Neville and released on Prime Video, secured fourth place with around 156.2 million minutes watched.

Rounding out the top five was “The Wrecking Crew”, directed by Ángel Manuel Soto, which logged an estimated 110.6 million minutes of viewership on Prime Video.

Fans of Chopra celebrated the achievement on social media, praising the actor’s performance and dedication to the role.

Set in the Cayman Islands, “The Bluff” follows Ercell Borden, played by Chopra, a woman living in a Caribbean town whose husband has been captured by a pirate named Connor, portrayed by Karl Urban. To protect her family, she is forced to confront her past and take on the identity of the feared pirate Bloody Mary.

Directed by Frank E Flowers, the film is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo and Angela Russo-Otstot under the banner of AGBO. The ensemble cast also includes Safia Oakley-Green, Temuera Morrison, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Zack Morris and David Field.

“The Bluff” has been streaming on Prime Video since February 25.
