Tanim Noor’s directorial “Bonolota Express” is marching full-steam towards what seems to be an inevitable crowd-puller. The ensemble cast of Chanchal Chowdhury, Mosharraf Karim, Azmeri Haque Badhan, Zakia Bari Mamo, Sabila Nur, Intekhab Dinar, Sariful Islam Razz, Shamima Nazneen, A K Azad Shetu, Shamol Mawla, and Sabrin Azad certainly helps with that.

Another surprise was unwittingly unveiled as singer Masha Islam showed up enthusiastically to the premiere. When asked if she was singing in the film, she replied with a wry smile, “Maybe I am.” It wasn’t long before the “Teka Pakhi” and “Ektu Khani Mon” singer spilled the beans: she is making her acting debut in “Bonolota Express.”

“I have always been a fan of Tanim Noor. After ‘Utshob’, I realized that I really wanted to be a part of ‘Bonolota Express’,” said Masha. “During a particular adda session, I scrounged up the courage to tell him that I wanted to be a part of it, regardless of what I did. I was ready to be a crew member if it meant being a part of this project!”

Tanim Noor, already an admirer of Masha’s singing talents, did not hesitate to recognize her potential. “Are you willing to audition for a role?” he asked, to which Masha immediately complied.

“Within a day, I recorded an audition for the character of Lily on my phone. At that point, I did not have any expectations,” she said. Soon after, the director reached out with the shooting dates.

“So, this is it? I got the role?” exclaimed Masha over the phone, not entirely sure if she had been hired. “Yes, you’re in,” replied the director.

“It was a dream come true because even though I’ve done commercials before, there is no better way to make a proper acting debut. Even though my role is relatively small, I am hoping that the audience likes it—I gave it my all,” said the star.

Masha, who has diversified her talents to include dance and acting, is looking forward to venturing into new projects. “In the future, you might see me wearing different kinds of hats,” said the confident young singer, who urged support for her upcoming endeavors.
