R Madhavan warns fans about fake account impersonating him online
Actor R Madhavan has warned fans about a fake social media account impersonating him and claiming to communicate on his behalf online.
The actor recently took to Instagram to alert followers that an unidentified individual had created a fraudulent profile using his name. According to Madhavan, the account falsely claims to represent him and has reportedly been contacting people on social media.
Sharing a screenshot of the profile, the actor issued a clear warning, stating that the account has no connection to him or his official team. He urged fans and followers to remain cautious and avoid interacting with the profile.
In his message, Madhavan described the profile as “totally a fraud account” and clarified that no other social media account is authorised to represent him or speak on his behalf.
The actor also said that steps are already being taken to address the issue and hold the person behind the impersonation accountable.
Fake accounts targeting celebrities have become increasingly common across social media platforms, often attempting to contact fans or industry professionals while posing as the public figure. By publicly flagging the impersonation, Madhavan sought to prevent confusion and potential scams among his followers.
Madhavan, known for films such as “3 Idiots”, “Vikram Vedha”, and “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect”, remains active across Indian cinema in multiple languages.
