Bangladeshi actor Baidya Nath Saha passes away
Veteran Bangladeshi actor Baidya Nath Saha has died at the age of 73, his colleagues confirmed. He passed away yesterday (March 3) evening at a hospital in Jashore, where he was being treated for age‑related illness, said Rashed Mamun Apu, general secretary of Actors Equity Bangladesh.
Saha began his career in theatre in Jashore before moving to television in the 1980s. He appeared in popular TV productions such as “Nodi Theke Somudre”, “E Madhur Khela”, and “Shrabone Boshonto”, and was known for his role in the serial “Lal Nil Beguni”.
On screen, Saha acted in Bangladeshi films and shorts, including “Adam” (2023), “Damal” (2022), and the short “Sultan” (2018). His work also included television movies and music videos.
His death has prompted tributes from peers across stage, television and film.
