National Film Award-winning filmmaker, Fakhrul Arefeen Khan's upcoming silver screen venture, "JK 1971", has won the Best Historic Film award at the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF).

“Din-The Day” director Morteza Atashzamzam will file a lawsuit against the film’s protagonist Ananta Jalil. He announced this in a recent post on Instagram. However, Ananta Jalil told The Daily Star on Thursday that he has no idea about the case as of yet.

Iranian filmmaker Morteza Atashzamzam will file a complaint against Ananta Jalil for breaching the contract for “Din: The Day”.

Shakib Khan, one of Dhallywood’s biggest superstars, returned to Bangladesh on Wednesday after spending nearly nine months in the US. “Orphan: First Kill”, the prequel to the popular American psychological horror film “Orphan”, directed by William Brent Bell will be released at all four branches of Star Cineplex on Friday. The film stars Isabelle Fuhrman, Julia Stiles and Rossif Sutherland in the lead roles.

 “The Dirty Picture” will soon be returning with a sequel according to the film’s producers, Kanika Dhillon and Ekta Kapoor. “The Dirty Picture 2” is anticipated to have an entirely different plot and cast from the first film, which was based on the life of Silk Smitha.
