Alongside acting, I will embrace this new profession: Tama Mirza
Social media was abuzz yesterday with news of actress Tama Mirza joining the Brand Communication Department of AB Bank. While the announcement drew considerable attention, it also prompted speculation over whether she was stepping away from acting.
Putting the speculation to rest, Tama took to social media to assure fans that acting remains an integral part of her life and that she has no plans to leave the profession.
“I am about to share a new chapter of my life with all of you,” she wrote.
“Before that, let me say that acting is my first love and the space where I feel most fulfilled. This is where I am, where I will remain, and InshaAllah, I will continue to bring you even better work in the future,” she added.
Sharing details of her new professional venture, Tama said, “A new identity has recently been added to my life outside of acting. I have joined the Brand Communication Department of AB Bank, one of the country’s leading private banks.”
She added that she intends to balance her acting career with her new professional responsibilities.
“Alongside acting, I will now also strive to carry out my responsibilities in this new profession with dedication,” she wrote.
Tama Mirza won the National Film Award in 2015 for her performance in Shahnawaz Kakoli’s “Nodijon”. Over the years, she has continued to take on diverse roles across film and OTT productions.
Her notable performances include “Khachar Bhitor Ochin Pakhi”, “7 Number Floor”, “Friday”, “Surongo” and, most recently, “Daagi”, reflecting the range of characters she has portrayed throughout her career.
