Fuad reimagines five classic band hits in ‘Touch of Gold’
Renowned producer Fuad Almuqtadir has returned with a fresh project that reinterprets five iconic Bangla band songs under a new musical arrangement. Titled “Touch of Gold”, the project features revamped versions of “Ghumonto Shohore” by LRB, “Odbhut Sei Cheleti” by Aurthohin, “Shraboner Megh” by Different Touch, “Bhoboghurey” by Cryptic Fate, and “Rong” by Watson Brothers.
Released under the banner of “Be Here Now”, the project brings together a new generation of vocalists. Shakib Chowdhury lends his voice to “Obak Sei Cheleti”, while Elita Karim performs “Shraboner Megh”. Raef Al Hasan Rafa reinterprets “Bhoboghurey”, and Zohad Reza Chowdhury sings “Rong”. The classic “Ghumonto Shohore”, originally by Ayub Bachchu, features a collaborative rendition by Johad, Rafa and Shakib.
Fuad said the idea was to revisit compositions from the 1990s using modern production tools. “Back then, we had limited technology. Now we wanted to present those same compositions with today’s resources. While it may feel like recreation to us, Gen Z listeners are discovering these songs as new,” he said, adding that the team was given full creative freedom.
Shakib Chowdhury noted that reinterpretations help preserve legacy tracks. “When a song is recreated, people often go back and listen to the original. That’s how these legendary songs stay alive,” he said.
Zohad Reza Chowdhury added that the updated sound allows a new generation to connect with the music they grew up hearing.
Music videos for all five tracks have been produced by Runout Films and directed by Adnan Al Rajeev, each presenting a distinct narrative aligned with the lyrics.
