Eid releases bring festive mix of collaborations and fresh singles
This Eid-ul-Azha, Bangladesh’s music industry is gearing up with a wave of new releases spanning folk fusion, romantic ballads and contemporary pop tracks. Alongside major production houses, many artists are also releasing songs through their personal YouTube channels.
Habib reunites with Kaya after two decades
Singer-composer Habib Wahid is reuniting with folk singer Kaya after more than two decades for a new track titled “Koi Roila Re”.
The duo first collaborated on the landmark folk-fusion albums “Krishno” in 2003 and “Maya” in 2004, where Habib blended Bengali folk music with Western arrangements. The new song also features Muza and is set to release on May 27 through Habib Wahid’s YouTube channel.
Balam unveils video for ‘Mawla’
Following the release of four audio tracks from his fifth solo album “Mawla” during Eid-ul-Fitr, Balam is now releasing the music video for the album’s title track “Mawla” this Eid.
The song, written jointly by Rashid Newton and Balam, features the refrain: “Mawla Mawla Mawla, tui pana dere Mawla.”
Imran brings ‘Mon Bujhla Na’
Imran Mahmudul is releasing a new single titled “Mon Bujhla Na” through his YouTube channel for Eid. The song has been written and composed by Gunjan Chowdhury, while Imran himself handled the music arrangement alongside vocals.
Abanti and Amit collaborate on “Prem”
Singer Abanti Sithi has teamed up with Amit Dey for the romantic track “Prem”, released on the T&T Consultancy London YouTube channel.
The song was written by Shahan Kabandha, with music arrangement by Mir Masum.
Asif and Rubayyat celebrate Sreemangal
A new musical film titled “Ruposhi Sreemangal” featuring Asif Akbar and London-based singer Rubayyat Jahan has been released for Eid on the Dhruba Music Station YouTube channel.
The project highlights the history, heritage and natural beauty of Sreemangal.
Mahtim and Konaal release “Premkahini”
Singers Mahtim Sakib and Konaal have lent their voices to “Premkahini”, written and composed by Tanvir Ahmed.
Directed by Akram Khan, the music video stars Sakib Siddique and Arohi Mim. The song has been released on the KM Music YouTube channel.
Milon and Rodela pair up for first duet
Singers Mohammad Milon and Marzia Bushra Rodela have collaborated for the first time on the duet “Kan Pete Shon”.
Written by Mamun Afnan Rumi and composed by Milon, the song features music arrangement by MM Rony. Directed by Borhanuddin Miraz, the video stars Maliha Mashfirat Medha alongside Milon. The song has been released on the YR Music YouTube channel.
Liza teams up with Anik
Sania Sultana Liza is releasing “Tomar Rodela Akashe” on her YouTube channel, featuring vocals by singer Anik.
The song was written by Lalon Lohani, while Nazir Mahmud handled composition and music arrangement. The music video has been directed by Raj Biswas Shankar.
Fuad returns with Nusraat Faria
After three years, actor-singer Nusraat Faria is returning with a new song titled “Loke Bole”.
Written by Badhan and composed and arranged by Fuad Al Muqtadir, the music video has been directed and choreographed by Indian filmmaker Baba Yadav. Fuad also appears in the video alongside Nusraat Faria.
The music video will release on May 26 through the YouTube channels of SVF Music and Bling Music.
Oyshee celebrates Noakhali roots
Singer Oyshee, who grew up in Maijdee, Noakhali, is releasing a song inspired by her roots titled “Noakhailla Maiya”.
The track also features Black Zang and will be released on Oyshee’s YouTube channel during Eid.
Reza Karim releases ‘Mone Jodi Jhor’
Singer Reza Karim is set to release “Mone Jodi Jhor” this Eid.
The song has been written and composed by Shahadat Hossain Nadim, who also jointly arranged the music with Jewel Mahmud.
Partha and Aisha feature in Shuvo’s new music video
Gaanchill Music is releasing “Mon Bujhi Na” by Jisan Khan Shuvo on May 25.
The song has been written and composed by the singer himself, while the story-driven music video has been directed by Rohit Raihan. Actors Partha Sheikh and Aisha Khan appear as models in the video.
