Purnima praises Shakib Khan’s transformation during reunion after years
Popular Bangladeshi actress Purnima recently reunited with superstar Shakib Khan after many years at the Channel i premises in Dhaka.
Despite heavy rainfall and waterlogging across the capital on Saturday afternoon, Shakib Khan arrived at Channel i for a series of special programmes. The television channel organised a warm reception for the actor, displaying posters and iconic looks from his films throughout the venue.
He was welcomed on a red carpet by Channel i Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar, Director and Head of News Shykh Seraj, along with other senior officials.
During the event, a special moment took place when Purnima and Shakib Khan met face-to-face after a long time. The popular on-screen pair have worked together in nearly 18 films, making their reunion a highlight of the day.
During a conversation, Purnima was asked how long it had been since they last met. Smiling, she directed the question to Shakib Khan, who replied, “Don’t ask how many days. Ask how many years!”
Purnima agreed, saying, “It has actually been many years since we last met.”
Speaking about Shakib Khan, Purnima praised the actor and said, “He looks even younger than before. I have watched all of his recent films. I watched ‘Toofan’, and I have seen his other films as well.”
She then jokingly added, “I wish I had this version of Shakib when we worked together. The Shakib of those days and the Shakib of today are worlds apart.”
Her comment drew laughter from Shakib Khan and everyone present at the event.
The reunion of the two beloved stars and their warm exchange became one of the most memorable moments of the programme.
