Oindrila eyes live performances in Australia

Tazrin Farhana Oindrila, daughter of renowned actor Bulbul Ahmed, has been involved in acting, singing, presenting, and dancing since childhood. She made her singing debut in “Gorom Hawa”, a film directed by her father, and later lent her voice to more than a dozen films.

Alongside her musical journey, she also earned recognition for her performances in numerous television dramas, particularly literary adaptations that received critical acclaim.

Although she continues to act, Oindrila is currently focusing more on music and television presenting. She has been hosting programmes on Banglavision for many years, but says her priority now is singing.

"I want to pursue music regularly, especially live stage performances," she said.

Recently, she performed at two concerts in Sydney, Australia, one of which attracted an audience of around 500 people.

"I received an overwhelming response at both shows. I performed a mix of classic and contemporary songs, and the audience appreciated every moment," she said.

Following the success of those concerts, Oindrila has already received invitations for more solo performances. She is expected to perform in Canberra and Melbourne in the near future.

Currently based in Australia, she says she has also been approached with acting offers there, but music remains her main focus.

"At the moment, I'm giving priority to singing. Of course, I may act as well, but music is what I want to devote myself to. I practise regularly and spend a lot of time listening to songs. Music is my constant companion."

Accompanying her on guitar during the Sydney performances was Sohel Khan, son of renowned singer Dilruba.

"Sohel Khan played the guitar at both concerts. He's an excellent guitarist," she said.

Asked about the audience's reaction, Oindrila replied, "They were delighted. Everyone who attended the concerts in Australia was extremely appreciative, and I've received a great deal of praise for my performances.”

Recalling one of her most memorable concerts, Oindrila shared that she once performed 15 popular songs from her father's films at a musical event in Gulshan, which was warmly received by audiences.

"Many people don't know that my parents father used to sing, and music was always part of our family life. I grew up learning singing, dancing, acting, recitation, and presenting. Those artistic pursuits were a natural part of my childhood," she said.

She also reminisced about a cherished family tradition.

"When I was little, we would all gather on the rooftop and sing together—my father, my mother, and the rest of the family. Sometimes we'd sing under the moonlight. Those evenings were filled with so much joy. I know those days will never come back, but the memories remain very close to my heart."

Oindrila received musical training from several renowned teachers, including the late Sadi Mohammad and Sanjib Chowdhury.

"I learned from Sadi Mohammad, from Sanjib da, and from many others over the years. To be honest, music is deeply rooted within me. I've always loved singing."
