Mosharraf Karim, Faruque Ahmed reunite after five years for new drama
After a gap of nearly five years, popular acting duo Mosharraf Karim and Faruque Ahmed are set to reunite in the drama “Chairman Er Husband”.
The two actors have previously worked together in several popular dramas, often playing contrasting characters. Mosharraf was usually seen as the clever and dishonest one, while Faruque played his simple-minded and honest friend.
Their collaborations include “Behind the Scene”, “Fad O Bogar Golpo”, “Moneybag” and “Mir Jafor Er Mrittu Chai”. Many of their dramas continue to draw millions of views on social media, while clips from their work frequently go viral on Facebook.
Speaking about their reunion, Faruque Ahmed said, “We used to work together regularly. We often hear from viewers asking why we do not act together like before. We both want to work as well. I also miss the work we did together.”
Faruque believes the duo have worked together less often because suitable scripts and roles have become less common.
“Maybe directors do not want it like before. Also, simply acting together is not enough. We need a script where there is scope for a combination between Mosharraf and me,” he said.
He recalled their work in a story by Redoan Rony, where he played a simple and foolish character while Mosharraf played a clever man who wanted to become rich quickly.
“We were both able to perform strongly because we had good understanding. It can be compared to the combination of the three characters in Humayun Ahmed’s ‘Tara Tinjon’. If we get a story like that, we will definitely work together,” Faruque said.
In “Chairman Er Husband”, the actors play two brothers. Faruque plays the elder brother, who gets involved in various bizarre situations. His actions often lead to arguments with his younger brother, played by Mosharraf Karim.
“Once again, the work has turned out well. I hope the audience will like it. I enjoyed working with Mosharraf again after such a long time,” Faruque said.
Director Sujit Biswas said the drama was recently filmed in Pubail, Gazipur. Neelanjona Neela, Saika Ahmed, Nure Alam Nayan and Siddiq Master also feature in the cast.
“Chairman Er Husband” will be released on YouTube soon.
