Five timeless romantic songs that celebrate Shabnam’s legacy
Legendary actress Shabnam is one of the most iconic leading ladies in Bangladeshi cinema. Over the course of her illustrious career, she established herself as a formidable presence not only in Dhaka’s film industry but also in the cinema of what was then Pakistan. Across the two countries, she acted in more than 180 films.
Today, Monday (August 17), marks the birthday of the celebrated actress. Born in 1946, Shabnam turns 80 today.
Shabnam remained a prominent figure in cinema from the 1960s through to the late 1990s. Her final film was “Ammajan”. Among her notable films are “E Desh Tomar Amar”, “Rajdhani’r Buke”, “Harano Din”, “Chanda”, "Talash”, “Sandhi”, “Sahadharmini", "Shorto” and “Julie”.
