Man sent to jail for raping woman in Narayanganj

A 21-year-old man was sent to jail yesterday for raping a 20-year-old woman in Siddhirganj area of Narayanganj.

A Narayanganj court passed the order to jail Imran Hossain Roni (21) after police produced him before it yesterday evening, said Moshiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Siddhirganj Police Station.

A police team arrested Roni from Mijmiji Dakhkhinpara area yesterday afternoon, our Narayanganj correspondent reports, quoting the OC.

Quoting the victim, OC Moshiur said Roni, an auto-rickshaw driver, had confessed that he entered the victim's house and raped her.

Later, the victim filed a rape case with the police station yesterday noon, said the OC.

The woman was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for a medical test, added the police official.
